The value for money at Maze Backpackers was excellent, and the room was cozy and comfortable. The location was unbeatable, right in the heart of the city and close to the train station. The staff, especially the friendly guy with the beard, were helpful and cute.
The breakfast selection could be improved with more variety.

Staff appeared to mainly be residents working for their board and were not particularly knowledgeable about the building or the surrounds.

Location
The showers - they had hot water but just a trickle of water. The kitchen wasn't well equipped, I had to buy a mug in the supermarket as there were never cups or mugs available and the bathrooms were really filthy

Convenient location, reasonable price. Accurate photos, slightly older. Daily events, good for solo travelers. Energetic kitchen during meals. Soundproof walls, comfortable beds. Always hot water. Opposite shopping, food, and grocery. Motorcycle parking nearby.

The location is good, but other backpacker hostels are also in good location.
The building is old, not clean. The shared bathroom/restroom is extremely dirty, only once staff-clean a day. The walkway is smelly. The pillow is dirty, the mattress is not comfort. I really do not recommend to stay in this hostel as it was my only bad experience traveling Sydney.

Staff were really friendly and chipper.
The state of the hostel makes it a pretty depressing building to stay in. My room had burnt out carpets and the blanket provided smelt so bad I had to put it in the cupboard. It really could do with some heavy duty investment and TLC. If not a coat of paint? The lack of air con made it very hot and the whole place smelt (although I think that was more to do with guests leaving stinking footwear on window sills). I know its aimed to appeal to younger and more laid back travellers but I think there could be more prominent messaging re general quiet and respecting folks sleep. Of the 3 nights all were broken by people coming in drunk, being loud etc. All in all I felt depressed at the thought of returning to the hostel at the end of the day. But the staff were very lovely and friendly.

The staff here were really friendly!!location of this place is quite good, near to train station.the room, kitchen, toilet, shower room are all very clean and tidy,I lived there for two night, everyday I could saw hardworking staff cleaning the public area around the hotel, staff here make me feel like family members :) even allow me to take photo with them as a memory of my journey in sydney.this place is not as good as the 5 stars hotel, but it bring to me the atomosphere of home~I will rather choose to stay here instead living in those expensive 5 stars hotel...I Will sure recommend this place to my friends and hope to come back again!awesome place!brighten up my journey! Miram & mum
The room was just a little bit smelly, butI treat it as the smell of home~

room was cheapest . location is good ,close to central train station and cbd.room was clean and bathroom facilities good . i thought it might be noisy because it was backpackers but it wasnt and also rooms are quite noiseproof
a. the checkin time was 2 pm . and checkout was 10am b. the storage room was in basement and luggage had to dragged through narrow stairs to be stored there . also the luggage had to carried up to room and no lift available ,was difficult because it was crowded
